| The following apply to the above five awards. | |
| 1. |
Points for Show Dog/Bitch and Show Sire/Dam are calculated as follows: Best of Breed - one point for every dog and bitch defeated in the breed, which includes all dogs and bitches shown in Best of Breed and all dogs and bitches shown in the classes. Best of Opposite Sex - one point for every dog/bitch of the same sex defeated in the breed which includes all dogs/bitches of the same sex shown in Best of Breed and all dogs/bitches of the same sex shown in the classes, unless the Best of Winners is of the same sex as the Best of Opposite Sex winner. If this is the case, one point will be added for every dog and bitch shown in the classes. |
| 2. | Only points earned while an ESSFTA member in good standing will be considered. Application for membership does not constitute membership. (Please note that there may be a waiting period of up to ninety days to complete the application process.) |
| 3. | If the dog is owned by more than one individual, only one individual needs to be a member of the ESSFTA. |
| 4. | The award year is the calendar year, January 1 to December 31. |
| 5. | The AKC Awards is the official record for point accumulation and ownership purposes. |
| 6. | Any disputes with respect to interpretation or application of the rules will be referred to the Board of Governors for resolution. The Board's decision will be final. |
