AGILITY SPRINGER OF THE YEAR:
CH MACH4 RAMBLEWOOD CRYSTAL CLEAR UDX MH XF
Owned By: Tracy Salzwedel and Patty Salzwedel
At the age of almost 10
years, it is quite humbling to me that Brooke has won her 6th
parent club award. I keep watching for signs that she wants to retire,
but she still wants to break her start line! Agility is Brooke’s
favorite game to play (other than hunting) and is running with speed and
enthusiasm. For the past 2 years Brooke has qualified to compete at
the AKC agility Invitational and had been ranked in the top 5 Springers
for MACH points.
Her trademark is her loud
barking on the start line, symbolizing her drive and love of life.
Brooke passes on her attributes to her kids and grandkids and it is
awesome to see them in the ring with her. I enjoy every run and I hope
there are many more. Thank you Brooke for the wonderful ride, you are
the best!

EXCELLENT AGILITY SPRINGER:
CH MACH TOPGUNS VINEWOOD MAKIN' A SPLASH UD, RN, SH, XF,
WDX
Owned By: Kathy Patregnani and Patty Salzwedel
Splash is once again making waves earning himself the 2009 Excellent
Agility Springer of the year award.
Running only 15 weekends in 2009 yet still garnishing 4.90 YPS in JWW'S
and 4.09 YPS in Standard for a combined average of 4.49 YPS. Along the
way we also earned the MACH and XF titles. WOW, what fun we had in
2009.
Splash was also a busy boy in other areas. Over the course of 2009 he
earned his UD, RN, and three Master Hunter legs. Splash also earned the
2009 Utility Springer of the Year Award. Go Splash Go.
Splash is a blast to run and we look forward to many more clean runs in
the agility rings.
Again, thank you so much for recognizing Splash with this wonderful
award.
Splash & Kathy

OPEN AGILITY SPRINGER:
FOX HOLLOW ALL I WANNA DO OA AXJ OF
Owned By: Ann Sunderman
Kenna is a willing worker
once her "job" is explained to her. We started competing in AKC agility
in January of 2009. Kenna won the TCVESSA Novice Agility Springer of
the Year award and TCVESSA Open Agility Springer of the Year award for
2009. I am proud to say she's my partner on the agility course and my
friend at home.

NOVICE AGILITY SPRINGER:
KESWICKE BELLS AND WHISTLES UD RA NA NAJ
Owned By: Alexandra Whitman
Buzz wrapped up his
obedience career with a handful of UDX legs and OTCH points, and turned
his attention to agility. He and handler Kathy Metcalfe quickly
established themselves as a formidable team running fast and clean and
happy, with two big smiles and one tail that never stops wagging. Having
taken time off for injuries, look for future titles from this remarkable
dog in tracking and preferred agility.

PREFERRED AGILITY SPRINGER OF THE YEAR:
MACH2 BOOMER WERNER VCD1 RE MXP2 MJP2
Owned By: Susan J Werner
Once in a Lifetime. This
not only describes Boomer but our journey together. It started with me
teaching him but after a short time it became him teaching me. He still
continues to teach me as well as his pack mates. I could not have asked
for a better partner in this journey. And to me it is about the journey
and the lessons learned. A friend once told me I’d never be able to
compete with that dog. Guess it was a good thing I didn’t listen. We
set out to have fun and never really had set goals. But together we
have many accomplishments with titles in obedience, rally and tracking
as well as traveling to two AKC Agility Nationals.
So now at the age of 11 we
are working toward our PAX. It is much easier for him to jump 16” but
it also made him faster leaving me less reaction time. Boomer loves
this sport and I love doing it with him. Of course…we love just about
anything that we can do together.
There is a group of us
that do “preferred” agility. As we say, they save the best for last.
Well at least in that jump height. But I also think Boomer believes
that “preferred” really means “mom I did it your way for all those
years, now I prefer to do it mine!” Either way, we just keep
making memories that will last a lifetime.
